    Initial Assessment

If you have a goal for treatment beyond general wellbeing/ health maintenance, an initial assessment is required before your first treatment, as it is needed to form an effective treatment plan. During the assessment, we will discuss your health history, goals for treatment, and signs or symptoms that aid in the formation of the proper TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis.

Acupuncture and additional modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine (nutritional counseling, moxabustion, guasha, cupping, tuina) when indicated.

Deeply relaxing, these treatments can help reduce cosmetic complaints like dark circles, acne, fine lines and wrinkles. They also help reduce sinus congestion and regulate hormonal imbalances.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the aim of a treatment is to correct underlying imbalances within the body. For this reason, a treatment is customized to the individual and how they present on that particular day. That being said, I have developed a few signature protocol treatments that can be applied to most everyone: Balance, Ground, and Uplift

    Zen Room/

    Amethyst Biomat

The Zen Room is a tranquil space where you can decompress before your treatment or relax and integrate for a while, afterward. The Zen Room features a full-sized Amethyst Biomat. You can also meditate, stretch, journal or do other writing exercises- whatever calls to you. Relaxing on the Amethyst Biomat after your treatment will strengthen, prolong, and integrate the effects of the acupuncture.

    Signature Treatments

At the end of 2019, Basic Balance terminated contracts with all insurance companies. Although, insurance provided convenience and affordability for some, it prevented me from providing the same level of care to my patients, due to the extra steps/restrictions needed to maintain credentialing and adhere to billing policies. I thank you very much for your understanding and your continued support during this transition.

A superbill is a receipt that includes diagnostic and procedure codes. Some insurance plans, especially those providing coverage for ‘out of network’ providers, will reimburse you the amount you paid, once they receive a superbill. Contact your insurance company to ask about the potential for reimbursement; superbills can be provided upon request, free of charge.

Additional Modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Cupping is a technique that has been used in many cultures throughout the ages. It involves the use of suction to improve circulation in problem areas in order to stimulate healing.

    Cupping

Moxibustion (Moxa) is performed in a variety of ways that include the burning of the herb, Mugwort. It is excellent for decreasing inflammation and as a local warming treatment on certain acupuncture points.

    Moxa

Guasha involves the use of a tool to stimulate circulation of blood and lymph to alleviate pain & tension.

    Guasha

Tuina is a type of massage & part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) system. It frees up energetic pathways within the body with manual therapies like acupressure and vibrational techniques.
